Diastasis recti - the separation of the abdominal wall following pregnancy and childbirth, is a real and common issue for real woman. This condition doesn’t just affect your muscles and it’s not just cosmetic. Over time, it will begin to affect digestion, your pelvic floor, hold you back from gaining that flat tummy and can cause pelvic organ prolapse. This condition will NOT get better on its own. Denial will not make this problem go away. It will get worse and the split will continue to widen and grow longer until action is taken.

I speak from personal experience. I completely split my abdominal wall. I’ve always exercised, kept active and pushed my body in various ways – for fun and for huge satisfaction. Seven years on from giving birth to my daughter Michaela, I didn’t worry about doing the pelvic floor exercises we’re all told to do. I didn’t know if my core muscles were fully re-connected. I kept exercising the same way I had done before pregnancy; totally ignored any warning signs or signals my tummy gave me. The result...I was left with a split from my sternum down to my pelvis. I had a 2 finger wide gap either side of my bellybutton (the worst spot for us all) AND this had weakened my pelvic floor which had begun to be less reliant at a moment’s notice...

Each class includes an intensive, focused and safe workout; aimed at repairing the abdominal separation and strengthening the pelvic floor, back, and glutes with safe resistance training.
